POSITION FOR IMMEDIATE HIRE
Mechanical Engineer/Multiple Openings
Location(s) : Kalamazoo, MI

Travel required to various locations in the Midwest United States 10% of the time.
​
​Assist in preparing Wastewater Treatment Plant and Water Treatment Plant Proposals by reviewing the requirements and developing solutions to provide the required treatment, especially related to pipe sizing, pipe flow, as well as mechanical HVAC and plumbing. Prepare drafts to develop construction drawings. Utilize AutoCAD drafting software to develop shop fabrication drawings and construction plans for design build water and wastewater treatment projects. Collaborate with the fabrication department to prepare pipe layouts, fabrication sketches, and answer general engineering questions. Assist project managers with construction engineering related tasks, which includes review of mechanical shop drawings, total station coordinate drawing and point development, prepare formwork and shoring designs, prepare earth retention system designs, review rigging plans and crane capacity questions, and answer various engineering questions. Coordinate design build projects by interfacing between project owner, company staff, and various sub-consultants and equipment suppliers. Prepare quantity takeoffs and construction cost estimates. Design building mechanical systems, such as HVAC, plumbing, etc.
